Army bikers. what’s that all about, right I am a soldier (honestly) and had an idea, I go on ride outs with my Civi blackbird mates and other people on this form and I go on ride outs with the Soldiers that I work with. Was thinking (with Spuds help) how I could combine both IE promote the soldier thing with biking thing and Civi bike clubs. Possible in the form of Support our Soldiers and Recruiting for the Army type thing. The bike clubs that were involved might get some sort funding for ride outs, sponsorship for charities, not quite sure. Like I said its early stages at the moment, just throwing this on the form to see what kind of support might or might not be out there. Please let spud or myself know what you think.

or better still post on here.

Speak freely and sensibly.

I think the thing with biking is you either do it or you dont. So unlike the army fitness thing that was open to everyone so you have a smaller target area. So just posting out a ride out will prob just appeal to a few smaller groups.

BUT........

The Army like the police have brilliant instructors you could use them ie like doing a road safe course or teaching roadside first aid. Then you could move on to offroad riding etc I think it would have to be run as some sort of club though!! Just an idea!!

Thanks for your idea, all will be considered. it will start off with a simple ride out, all will be invitied and wait and see who turns up and see where it goes from there. Spud and the HillBillies seem to think its not a bad idea.

Watch this space for more info.

Still in early stages at the moment, had a meeting through in Stirling to get the club up and running sort out who does what but its slow progress, hopefully should be better for the summer.

Hope to get some meets organised with local clubs or run outs and stuff, sort some charity functions or meets.

We are hoping to organise a run to Europe next year for a Drinking tour, i mean a Battle field tour. All wecome hopefully.

Will post more stuff as it happens, just to see if anyone wants to go to anything or is interested.

Its all about getting out on the bike.

Just to up date those that might be interested.

The Army Bikers Scotland had another meeting, went well. About 10 people have booked up for the NW200.

Things in the pipe line, North of Scotland run "when weather improves", spread over a few days, staying in Army camp in Inverness or that area.

Battlefield tour to Germany or Amsterdam in the summer with a lot of luck. Hopefully all welcome, if any body is interested, dates and time to follow.

Wait out.

Update.

Spent the weekend up in BALMACARA (just before you go over the bridge heading to Island of sky).

9 Army Bikers + 2 Guest,s.

Digs were fantastic, food great, Banter at the bar at night top notch.

Some of the pics are attached.

In my 19 years since passing my bike test, this was one of , if not, the best weekend biking i have ever had.

The roads up bye Applecross, Ullapool, Portree, + others, i think are the best in Scotland.

Can,t wait until next visit.

q3  q3  q3  q3  q3  q3  q3  q3  q3  q3  q3  q3  q3

This is next to where we stayed, BALMACARA BAY.

Got to get the bike in LOL.

ON SKY BRIDGE. BREATH TAKING.

Cheers.
